We are very proud indeed to see oor Kid Canaveral longlisted for the 2013 Scottish Album of the Year Award, for their second full-length set Now That You Are A Dancer. It's a fantastic record, right enough, and they and we both put tonnes o' hard work into it - great to see NTYAAD getting the recognition it deserves, alongside a raft of other exceptional releases from the likes of Edwyn Collins, The Pastels, RM Hubbert, Chvrches, Mogwai and loads more. Nine of the longlistees will go through to the shortlist by selection of a judging panel, while one more album will additionally make the final cut via a 72-hour popular vote, running from Mon, May 26 until Wed, May 28. If you're a fan of Kid Canaveral and/or Lost Map, please get behind the band and help them pass through to the final 10! You can stream the album in full today (May 1st) from the SAY Award website: www.sayaward.com/

Turns out none of us can add up and the voting actually closes on Wednesday night at midnight... which means you'll be even more sick of us talking about it on Facebook and Twitter and everywhere else. Don't worry, it'll be over soon. In the mean time though VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE. David's impossibly cute kitten, Mòrag, says you have to.
